Want To Explore Short Rows?
This season, you’ll explore short row colourwork through beautifully wearable scarves that combine garter stitch, short rows, and two colours.
As you knit, the fabric shifts and balances itself, revealing flowing motifs and the quiet thrill of solving a small geometric puzzle, one stitch at a time.
What You’ll Learn
- How short rows can shape fabric and create movement in colourwork.
- How to read and understand short row colourwork charts.
- How to spot (and fix) common short row mistakes as you knit.
- Build your skills through clear, step-by-step video tutorials at your own pace.

Pattern Details
SIZES:
One Size
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Width at Centre: 5.75” / 14.5 cm
Version 1 Length: 56” / 142 cm
Version 2 Length: 52” / 132 cm
GAUGE:
20 sts & 40 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Garter Stitch blocked
YARN:
LITLG ‘DK Twist’ (100% Superwash Merino; 252 yds / 230 m per 4.06 oz / 115 g);
Approx yardage: Col A: 208 yds / 189 m; Col B: 67 yds / 61 m
Version 2 will reverse the colours and work one repeat less of the Tulipano repeat. Each Tulipano Repeat: Col A: 19 yds / 17 m; Col B: 5.75 yds / 5.25 m
Note: I was able to make two scarves from the two skeins, reversing the colours for each to make maximum use of the yarn. The second scarf requires one less repeat of the Tulipano Central Pattern to ensure I have sufficient yarn to complete the final decreases.

What Our Past Club Member Said!
Thank goodness for the Teachable lessons. It is so obvious when Carol demonstrates, and I am sure I could work it out for myself, but it does take the stress out of getting it wrong.
