Explore Deliberate Imbalance In Your Knitting

For the spring knit-along, the Row By Row Cardigan, we wanted to push the boundaries of what a cardigan could be.

Combining the idea of Woolly Wormhead’s short row colourwork motifs with short row shaping.

Learn the rules for how to balance motifs while also breaking them to create the shaping for the cardigan.

How Does A Knit-along Works?

A KAL is simple!

You purchase the featured pattern and decide whether to grab a yarn kit or dive into your stash.

At set intervals, you’ll work through the project together as each section of the pattern is released or highlighted.

You knit in manageable, satisfying stages, with guidance, encouragement, and community support every step of the way.

Note that the pattern needs to be purchased separately from the yarn kit (Yarn information below).

What Our Knitters Said...

"I have learned many strategies and knitting techniques, first how to unwind the yarn, how to read the pattern instructions, how to knit top down. This is my first KAL, and the welcome community comments are great advice and encouraging."

-Beatrice F. (Daingean KAL, 2025)

"I learned a great deal in doing this project. All my questions answered especially because I had a few modifications. One being that I wanted to make this as a vest. The videos are indispensable. The end result has left me wanting to make this pattern again as a long sleeve sweater,"

-Sam F. (Torc KAL, 2024)

Boring knits?

Not on our needles.

This KAL is for knitters who are in it for the rhythm, the challenge, and the aha moments. Those who love the why behind garment design.

If that sounds like your kind of knitting…
