This soft, fluffy sweater is just what you will reach for on those days when you need comfort, warmth, and a little bit of luxury.

How is it constructed?

This sweater is knit from the top down, first starting with the upper back using short rows to shape the shoulders. Then you will work the front, and when that is finished the front and back are joined in the round for the body.

The body is worked without shaping, with the introduction of drop stitch lace in stripes of a laceweight brushed yarn.

Finally the sleeves are picked up and worked from the top down. They are finished with the same dropped stitch lace in contrast stripes that mirrors the body.

The end effect is a light, floaty sweater that is a dream to wear and makes you feels special!

Carol Feller combines her rich heritage in crafting with extensive expertise in both textile art and structural engineering to create knitwear designs that resonate deeply with knitters around the globe. Having authored 7 books and nearly 300 patterns, her work, such as "Short Row Knits" and "Contemporary Irish Knits," showcases a finesse rooted in a lifelong passion for the craft. As the creative force behind StolenStiches.com, Carol’s reputation as an innovator and educator in the knitting community is well-established, with a virtual classroom of almost 400,000 students on Craftsy.com.

With an inherent skill for demystifying complex techniques, I infuse my workshops with a blend of practical knowledge and inspirational ideas directly from Cork, Ireland, where I reside and create. I thrive on guiding enthusiasts through the nuances of garment shaping, short rows, cables, and colorwork, and I am deeply invested in each student's journey, from yarn selection to the last stitch. Whether teaching in local yarn shops, at fiber festivals, or during cozy knitting retreats, my goal is to empower knitters to bring their own Duvet Day Sweaters to life, all while fostering a warm, enthusiastic community of crafters.
