Learn To Knit Intarsia

This winter Carol will step you through the basics of Intarsia and building blocks of colour into your knitting.

In this club, we will have two accessory patterns designed by Carol Feller, one for a draw string bag and another for a small shawlette. These patterns use the stunning colour combination of Semilla yarn.

Each project will introduce a few other techniques, as well as intarsia. On the bag you will also learn how to join two flat pieces together using a sewn border to join them. For the shawlette we will introduce some German Short Rows to create a lovely curve to the edge.

Yarn Kit Options

If you would like yarn included with your club, we offer the 'Full Club' option.

Along with all the digital aspects of the club, you will also receive 6 colours of BC Garn 'Semilla', which can be described as the star of this season’s club.

This Argentinian sourced wool is dyed and spun in Italy to create a unique colour palette that’s rich and diverse. It’s the perfect choice to knit away those January blues.

Your chosen yarn will be shipped in early-January.

Workshops & Support

The highlight of our clubs are the accompanying workshops and support from both ourselves and our wider community. Many choose our clubs to try their hand at a new-to-them technique.

Never knit intarsia? Or short rows?

You won’t be alone. This is the beauty of learning with others. If you get stuck, we are right there to help you along as we work on the same projects as you!

Our workshops are recorded in English and have accompanying subtitles and an interactive comments section.

Reviews

Thank goodness for the Teachable lessons. It is so obvious when Carol demonstrates, and I am sure I could work it out for myself, but it does take the stress out of getting it wrong.

Participated in 4 Seasons so far. I love being able to refer to the videos when needed and work at my own pace. Suitable for all levels of knitters. I have learned a lot and really enjoy the experience.

Meet Your Teacher

Carol Feller trained initially as a textile artist and then as a structural engineer. While both backgrounds are very different, the influences can be seen in her design work, which is well-shaped, flattering to wear and enjoyable to knit.

Carol has been widely published in books and magazine and travels the world teaching in yarn shops and fibre festivals. The classes she teaches cover a wide range of subjects, from cables and chart reading, through garment shaping and customisation right through to short rows and colourwork. In her classes, you'll move from learning the basics to refining your knitting skills and fixing problems.
