Embroider Your Knits!

Over the last few years, I’ve been noticing a new style of embroidery emerging.

This is a much more graphic, freestyle embroidery, with dramatic splashes of colour that creates patterns and textures as surface decoration on your work.

In this club, we will have two basic patterns, one for a light scarf and another for a neckerchief. These slip stitch patterns provide an ideal surface and a set of ‘grid lines’ that you can use to create your freestyle embroidery.

Join me this summer and say hello to modern surface design as we unlock our creativity and learn to embroider our hand-knits!

Yarn Kit Options

If you would like yarn included with your club, we offer the 'Full Club' option.

Along with all the digital aspects of the club, you will also receive deliciously soft yarn that was spun and dyed in a family-owned fiber mill in Scotland.

And when we say soft, we mean baby soft. The beautiful Biches et Buches yarn 'Le Petit Lambswool' is produced with the first cut of the sheep! In this club, you'll receive 3 skeins of this yarn in your chosen colourway.

You will also receive 3 cards of Fyberspates 'Gleem Lace' embroidery thread in 3 different colours composed of 55% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 45% Silk.

Your chosen yarn will be shipped in early-July.

Workshops & Support

The highlight of our clubs are the accompanying workshops and support from both ourselves and our wider community. Many chose our clubs to try their hand at a new-to-them technique.

Never held an embroidery needle?

You won’t be alone. This is the beauty of learning with others. If you get stuck, we are right there to help you along as we work on the same projects as you!

Our workshops are recorded in English and have accompanying subtitles and an interactive comments section.

Reviews

Thank goodness for the Teachable lessons. It is so obvious when Carol demonstrates, and I am sure I could work it out for myself, but it does take the stress out of getting it wrong.

Participated in 4 Seasons so far. I love being able to refer to the videos when needed and work at my own pace. Suitable for all levels of knitters. I have learned a lot and really enjoy the experience.

Carol Feller

Meet Your Teacher

Carol Feller trained initially as a textile artist and then as a structural engineer. While both backgrounds are very different, the influences can be seen in her design work, which is well-shaped, flattering to wear and enjoyable to knit.

Carol has been widely published in books and magazine and travels the world teaching in yarn shops and fibre festivals. The classes she teaches cover a wide range of subjects, from cables and chart reading, through garment shaping and customisation right through to short rows and colourwork. In her classes, you'll move from learning the basics to refining your knitting skills and fixing problems.
