Want to knit a chunky sweater, but not

sure where to start?

Then this is the perfect workshop for you!

Baby wearing small version of the Formida Sweater

What's included in the course?

The Fornida sweater is a chunky knit, that uses large needles to create nice, big stitches which will be easier to count and help you as you learn to read your knitting!

With the added bonus that you’ll knit it up very quickly.

This sweater is knit flat in pieces and seamed at the end to create the finished sweater.

If you have never knit a sweater before the child size is a great way to get started to learn the techniques.

Both the adult and child patterns are included in the workshop.

Want to knit an adult version?

Although Carol demonstrates how to knit this sweater in the workshop on a baby-sized sweater, the pattern includes an extensive sizing range up to a plus sized adult.

Cosy and comfortable this sweater is the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe. You can use all natural organic wool in your favourite colour.

Give yourself the gift of your very first hand-knit sweater!

Meet Your Teacher

Carol Feller trained initially as a textile artist and then as a structural engineer. While both of these backgrounds are very different the influences can be seen in her design work which is well-shaped, flattering to wear and enjoyable to knit

She strives to design clothing with a difference: not overly complex, but still giving a very unique end product. She likes to work with different construction methods, so long as they enhance the knitting experience and make for a more intuitively put-together knitted item.

Carol has been widely published in books and magazine and travels the world teaching in yarn shops and fibre festivals. The classes she teaches cover a wide range of subjects from cables and chart reading, through garment shaping and customisation right through to short rows and colourwork. In her classes you'll move from learning the basics to refining your knitting skills and fixing problems.

Looking for some yarn?

Both verions of the Amara sweater above are knit using the yarn 'Maximo Chunky Virgin Wool'. The shades are as follows:

  • The adult version worn by Carol is knit using the shade 'Navy Dusk'.
  • The baby version was knit using the shade 'Buff'.

Plush, soft and bouncy, Maximo is made with 100% organic certified virgin wool. Thick, highly elastic, and soft to touch, this chunky organic merino wool creates light accessories and garments that are a dream to wear
